Tamarindo Transfers & Tours — Terms & Conditions
When booking, confirming, or using any service provided by Tamarindo Transfers & Tours (also known as Tamarindo Shuttle & Tours), you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These policies are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and the highest level of service quality while protecting our company and staff.
1. Shared Shuttle Services
Our shared shuttle is a door-to-door, fixed-rate, shared-ride service, where passengers or groups who may not know each other share the same vehicle traveling to or from the airport. Please note:
- Shared services may involve short waiting times for other passengers with similar flight schedules.
- Routes and schedules are subject to logistical adjustments to accommodate multiple pickups or drop-offs efficiently.
- Shared services are not guaranteed to depart or arrive at an exact time, as timing depends on airport traffic, customs clearance, and other passengers' flights.
If guaranteed departure or exclusive service is required, we recommend booking a private transfer.
2. Airport Pickup Procedures
- Our driver will be waiting outside the main exit door of the terminal holding a Tamarindo Transfers & Tours sign with your name.
- Allow 30–45 minutes to clear immigration and customs.
- The included waiting time is up to 45 minutes from the moment your flight lands.
- After 45 minutes, an additional waiting fee or private service surcharge may apply.
- If contact cannot be established after 60 minutes, the service will be considered a no-show (see section 4).
To ensure smooth pickup, please have WhatsApp or phone contact available for communication with our operations team.
3. Payment Policy
- All reservations must be fully paid and confirmed before service. Unpaid or partially paid bookings will not be dispatched.
- Payments can be made by credit/debit card, cash, or approved digital methods.
- Upon payment, you will receive a confirmation voucher with all service details. This voucher must be shown to the driver or company representative at pickup.
All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars (USD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice until payment is completed.
4. Cancellations, Modifications & Refunds
We understand travel plans can change. To maintain reliability for all passengers, our policies are as follows:
- Cancellations made 48+ hours before the scheduled pickup time → 100% refund.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the pickup time → Non-refundable.
- No-show or last-minute cancellation (<24 hours) → 100% cancellation charge.
- Flight cancellations or emergencies: if proof from the airline or relevant documentation is provided before the scheduled pickup, you may rebook without penalty (subject to availability).
All changes or cancellations must be made in writing to: reservations@tamarindoshuttle.com during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Costa Rica time). Requests made outside these hours will be processed the next business day. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take up to 15 business days to process.
5. Flight Delays, Early Arrivals & Price Adjustments
We monitor all flights whenever possible. However:
- Early arrivals: You may need to wait until other scheduled passengers arrive, or you may choose to upgrade to a private service (additional fee applies).
- Delays beyond 1 hour: Our team will do its best to accommodate changes, but if operational logistics require rescheduling, additional fees or a change to a later shuttle may apply.
- Major flight schedule changes (more than 3 hours) may require reconfirmation or rebooking at current rates.
- Unnotified flight changes or missing flight details may result in service forfeiture without refund.
If your flight is canceled before departure, notify us immediately. We will hold your reservation and adjust at no cost if informed in advance.
6. Limitations of Liability
While we strive for reliability and safety, Tamarindo Transfers & Tours is not liable for:
- Delays due to traffic, weather, road closures, mechanical issues, or other events beyond our control.
- Missed flights, tours, or connections resulting from unforeseen delays.
- Any loss of personal time, income, or consequential damages.
Our liability is strictly limited to the cost of the service purchased.
7. Lost or Forgotten Items
Passengers are fully responsible for personal belongings. Before leaving the vehicle, please verify you have all your items. If an item is found:
- We will make every effort to contact you and arrange its return.
- Tamarindo Transfers & Tours is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen belongings.
- Shipping or delivery costs for recovered items must be covered by the owner.
- Unclaimed items after 30 days will be considered abandoned.
8. Conditions of Carriage & Conduct
- Tamarindo Transfers & Tours may use authorized subcontractors to provide services on our behalf; the same terms apply.
- We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose behavior is unsafe, abusive, or disruptive toward staff or passengers.
- Verbal abuse, intoxication, or inappropriate conduct will result in denied service without refund.
- Damage caused to company property or vehicles due to passenger negligence will be charged in full to the booking holder.
9. Luggage Policy (Shared Shuttles)
Included allowance per passenger:
- 2 checked bags (max 25 kg each)
- 1 carry-on
Extra or oversized items:
- Shortboard, golf clubs — $10 each
- Longboard, surfboard bag, bicycle — $20 each
Excess or irregular luggage must be declared at booking. Undeclared oversized luggage may result in refusal of service or surcharge.
10. Animals
Animals and pets are not permitted on shared shuttle services. Private transfers may be arranged for passengers traveling with pets (subject to approval and fee).
11. Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in the price. Tipping is optional but highly appreciated by our professional drivers.
12. Force Majeure
Tamarindo Transfers & Tours shall not be held liable or responsible for any failure, delay, or inability to perform services resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, extreme weather, or acts of God
- Strikes, protests, or government actions
- Road closures or accidents
- Pandemics, public health restrictions, or national emergencies
In such events, services may be postponed, rescheduled, or canceled without refund, at the company's discretion. Tamarindo Transfers & Tours will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected services at no additional cost when possible.
13. No Chargeback Policy
By booking with Tamarindo Transfers & Tours, you agree not to initiate any credit card chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting the company to resolve the matter in good faith. All disputes, refunds, or service issues must be handled directly with our management team. Any chargeback initiated after services have been provided or contrary to these Terms & Conditions will be considered fraudulent and may result in legal action and additional collection costs.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
All bookings and services are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. In the event of a dispute, the competent authorities or courts of Santa Cruz, Guanacaste will have exclusive jurisdiction.
